So proud to share that I completed my first marathon this weekend. This was an unbelievable personal accomplishment because as recently as four years ago, I never worked out, watched what I ate or thought one bit about health, wellness and fitness. In four years, I’ve learned to meditate, found the right balanced diet for me and taught myself the diligence and discipline to be a runner and tackle this demanding feat.
Even beyond this, I successfully raised $1,500 for St. Jude, an incredible organization that offers world-class care and conducts world-class research on child cancer but never charges its patients a penny. St. Jude is located in Memphis, Tenn., my hometown, and my cousin is a cancer survivor. The hospital is a fantastic reflection of the spirit of Memphis and does extraordinary work for the community. I was proud to run this race as a St. Jude Hero in honor of my cousin and kids like him.
