My Logo

cropped-logo-012.pngI wanted a professional logo that reflected my personality, values and style. Although I first thought to use a sleek, modern typeface like Avenir to create a more traditional monogram, I realized the point was to show my personal touch, a fun but elegant, clean but complex, graceful but powerful signature. “Lesley” is also one of the most beautiful words to write in cursive — try it! — so I leaned into this with flourishing “L” and “S” flowing in my favorite way.

Because I frequently sign personal emails “LCS” and often use my middle initial professionally, I wanted to include the “C,” though it was the greater challenge. Realizing that I could slip it in between its neighbors simplified the entire logo, which clarified the concept for me, and hopefully for you!

You might thin the extra curve at the top of the “C” is too much, but in fact, it is intentional. If it looks like an “e,” that’s because it can be, and if it is, then the logo reads “Les” — my name. So, I won’t exactly call this a monogram — it truly is my signature, representing all of me.
